Student Engagement: Advisory, Democracy, and Relevance
Oct. 4 - 6

Central to high school restructuring is overcoming the boredom, disconnection and irrelevance that most students see as the major problems with school. This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the tools that FHHS uses to engage students: advisory, student democracy, and a core curriculum linked to the world in which they live. The workshop will include an overview of the FHHS school culture and its results, visits to advisory and classes, and sessions with teachers, administrators, and students. It is recommended that a team of participants attend, including parents, students, faculty, and administrators. This will include the reception and breakfast and lunch on both days, copies of George Wood’s books, and all workshop materials. Participants are responsible for their own lodging.

Registration Deadline: 9/19 Fees: $300 (15% off for CESN Affiliates)
